"The first gift of Christmas!" announces Santa as he hands off that harness bell to our nameless "Polar Express" narrator while all the parents wax nostalgic and all the children think, "what an idiot, he totally wasted his wish!"
My older boys have seen the movie - I have not but I definitely get a lump in my throat reading the end of the book. But I do also wonder about the gift choice - I mean he could have asked for anything!
Polar Express was such a great movie though!!
