Walk This Way

Walk-to-School Day is my favorite day in the school calendar. But it should really be called Walk-to-School-and-Pick-Up-All-the-Litter-You-can-Comfortably-Collect-without-Falling-into-the-Ravine-by-the-Side-of-the-Road-or-Risking-a-Bad-Case-of-Poison-Ivy-and-then-have-your-Husband-Drop-off-your-Bike-at-the-School-so-you-Won't-Have-to-Walk-Home Day.
Too long?
Surely they could shorten it to WTSAPUATLYCCCWFITRBTSOTRORABCOPIATHYHDOYBATSSYWHTWH Day.

glad your school participates, my son's does not (despite the fact that stage 2 of the largest cycling race in the US is set to start across the street from the school on Monday morning!)

Hi Audrey,
It's too bad your school doesn't participate. Our elementary school does a nice job of it. For all the kids who don't have obsessive parents who make them walk all the way to school (2.5 miles from our house), the busses drop all the kids off at the library which is about a mile from the school and teachers and parents meet them there and walk with the kids to the school. Love it!
